Today, I met with one of my coordinating teachers and department head at her house just outside of town.  I was cordially invited to meet for morning tea where I was greeted with lemonade and a great conversation about the lakes' algal blooms.  I was also invited to come on tuesday to Lake's Entrance to take water samples from various water sources in and around the lake area to be used in a lesson at school; there may even be some fishing involved!  I can't wait!

After morning tea, it was back to the house for a short while for lunch.  In the afternoon, my host family took me on a drive, this time it was inland.  We drove for 15 km until we reached a small, crafty town called Bruthen where we stopped at a newly opened microbrewery for a sampling of some local beers.  I was very impressed with the pilsner!  We sipped on small samples of beer looking out over the country listening to a local group sing Paul Kelly songs.  It couldn't have been a better way to end the weekend!

I'm off to bed tonight thinking about the months to come and how fortunate I am to be in Australia.  I have been looking forward to this opportunity for a long time and it is finally here.  Tomorrow, I meet with the new faculty and will be participating in an orientation.  School starts officially on wednesday. My true adventure is about to start.
